SCOTTISH COUNTRY DANCING FOR BEGINNERS It is thanks to Edna & Ray Armstrong that the
Beginners’ Scottish Country Dancing classes started at FMC last
September. With teachers Ken & Lavinia Morris, who could fail to enjoy learning? A particular feature is their careful preparation; couple this with their good humour and limitless patience and you have a magic formula. The dancing definitely helps to stimulate our ‘little grey cells’ as well as giving us exercise, and we find we are gaining in confidence all the time. Yes, there’s plenty to learn but the main aim is to encourage people to join in and do their best. Are you a complete beginner? Do you have some previous Scottish Country Dancing experience? Do you have previous dance experience of any sort? We all have to begin somewhere and you would be made very welcome. To anyone interested: you can come along on your own, or bring with you as many friends as you like! Classes are held most Wednesday evenings in the Oak Hall, from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm – with a break in the middle for refreshment and a chat. Jacqui Clarke
