This particular branch of the family was formed on 22 February 2003, when Danny Gallagher married Judith Fox! We have worshipped at Fulwood together for the past twelve months or so, however Judith has been a member for five years and Danny’s roots are in the Catholic Church.

Judith has lived in Preston for almost seven years (arriving at the same time as the Poxon Family) but was born in the midlands and has lived in Darlington, Manchester and Durham along the way. Judith has been in the Methodist Church for as long as she can remember and has always taken an active part in youth work, currently leading ‘Escape’ and taking junior church once a month. She can also occasionally be seen at the front of church singing with the worship group. Outside of church she is a trained nursery nurse working in a reception class, but previously worked with special needs children.

Danny took his first breath in Newcastle upon Tyne, but moved to Preston when still a little baby, therefore Preston is his home city. He has worked since the age of sixteen (fourteen if you take into account his four paper rounds) as a retail butcher, a meat inspector, a manager of a retail store and now a project manager for the charity Emmaus, which builds communities for homeless people. He is also a city councillor and is active in helping develop ‘England’s Newest City’. He works hard on the Larches and Savick ward and sits on many committees and sub committees.

The extended Gallagher family consists of Danny’s daughters Gemma, aged 20 and Daniella (19), Judith’s son Jonathan (20) and Sarah (17). Sarah is the only one living at home at the moment along with the family cat ‘Jess’! The two eldest children live and work in Preston, Daniella is working in Lanzarote and shortly in Minorca. Sarah is, as, they say, between jobs. So there you have it, an introduction to the new Gallagher family, who are paving their way in their new beginnings.
