In September 2008, ‘National Children’s Home’, NCH, changed their name to ‘Action for Children’, a name that truly reflects who they are and what they do. The name Action for Children clearly describes what they do: it underlines their focus on action and doing their best for children and young people. It also reflects the fact that residential care is now just one small part of the range of services they provide.

The name ‘Action for Children’ also honours their heritageand past: for many years, ‘action for children’ was the organisation’s tagline, part of their ethos. The tagline now is ‘as long as it takes’, which reflects their steadfast commitment to providing long-term support for children, young people and their families, for as long as it is needed.
