Guttridge Medical Centre

When Guttridge Church was sold, many of us wondered what the future of the building would be. After a wait of three years the renovations are at last complete. Many went to the public open day on May 19th and were amazed at the transformation.

Steps now lead up to a new impressive entrance between the church and school with full length windows and glass door. All the windows have been replaced, the stone pillars and the foundation stones cleaned. The stained glass window has been re-leaded and security glass added to protect it. The change inside was no less astonishing; the hall now has a gallery all round with consultation rooms leading off. Also upstairs, at the Deepdale Road end is a large conference room.

Downstairs the central waiting room is light and airy with brightly coloured upholstered sofas, more consultation rooms, treatment room and large kitchen.

The church area has similar consultation rooms, reception area, waiting area and another small kitchen. A pharmacy is located just inside the main entrance.

The building has been sympathetically restored, retaining some of the old features especially the stained glass window. It is a great joy to know that after over 100 years of Christian worship the building will continue to serve the local community in a medical capacity and has been named Guttridge Medical Centre.
